We officially have a young man in our home. Harrison turned 12 a couple of weeks ago and life as we know it is over.
He invited nine of his best buddies over for lunch and swimming. Throwing a party for boys this age is so easy! ("Here's the pizza. There's the pool. Go party.")
Between school, church, soccer, basketball, and football, Harrison has met a lot of great kids his age. We're so grateful he has so many good friends. It makes chicken fights more fun.
Harrison hadn't seen all his friends together since we moved, so it was pretty much the best day ever. I think Chloe had a pretty okay time, too.
He wanted Texas Sheet Cake for his birthday. Good thing there were so many people to help eat it.
I've always wanted a dining room table that could fit a million people. Close enough.
His friends all gave him cold hard cash and gift cards. That evening we went on a massive shopping spree and he bought some awesome Lego sets.
In addition to this Lego Movie set, he bought three Lego Architecture sets for display in his room (because he's not a child, anymore).
On July 12th, Jeff conferred the Aaronic Priesthood on Harrison. It was a very special day. I'm so grateful for both of these worthy men. What a joy it has been to watch Harrison grow into such a fine young man. On with the adventure!

I just saw photos of him when he was a toddler, you know, yesterday. They say it happens so fast, but for REAL, that went fast. Harrison really is delightful. How fun to see him smiling with his friends and getting cash for his birthday. :)
12 is such a milestone in life's adventure. And Harrison is a fine young man. It looked like you had a house full of fine young men. I never thought what that would mean for Chloe. Win-win!
It must have been a good day, since you are wearing red shoes. I hope you had a wonderful birthday as well. How lucky we are to have 12 year olds, now!
