A few months back Harrison's basketball team played against his friend's team. Harrison made a pretty aggressive foul and his friend's dad called the next day and asked if Harrison wanted to play on his flag football team.
Harrison loved playing with his friends every week and getting to know the game.
He'd never played the game before, but his coaches (Sam and Travis) were patient with him and gave him plenty of play time.
It turns out, he's pretty good. Here he is catching a touchdown pass. He did that a lot.
He really gave it his all each game. Also, mouth guards are disgusting.
The Cowboys had kind of a rough end to the season. There was a lot of yelling (by the parents) and crying (by the boys) involved. Harrison took it pretty well. He's had the misfortune of playing on basketball and soccer teams with losing records. It's made him a better loser. We couldn't be more proud.
The Cowboys had an end-of-season picnic last week. They boys voted on awards for each teammate. They couldn't vote for themselves and couldn't vote for the same teammate more than once.
Harrison's team voted him "Most Improved Offensive Player." I think that plastic trophy with his name written in Sharpie means more to him than the nice participation trophy they gave him later.
This team was our last link to our previous ward (or congregation). We're pretty bummed that we don't get to sit out in the sun with them every Saturday morning, anymore. We're grateful for Sam and Travis and the team for taking Harrison in and letting him be a part of the fun.

Oh my goodness! I got a big lump in my throat, and a little prickle in the tear ducts. The pictures here tell it all! Congratulations to Harrison!
