Trick or Treat

We had the pleasure of spending our Halloween evening at Jeff's Uncle Gary and Aunt Lisa's. Lisa made chili and scones and the men took the kids trick-or-treating. It was the most fun we've had on Halloween in a long time. Thanks for letting us join the fun, guys!

Earlier in the day, Jeff carved pumpkins with the kids.

Here's a shot of all the kids in their costume from top: Jeff's Aunt Penny holding Baby Bumblebee Berkley, Asian Princess Kiersten holding Chinese chef Carter, Ballerina Panda Chloe, and Mr. Incredibly Crabby (Harrison).

Despite a few run-ins with dogs (which the kids are terrified of) and some light rain, trick-or-treating was the greatest thing to happen to Harrison and Chloe, ever!

Now I just have to figure out how to regulate all that candy. Any suggestions?

Hide the candy and enjoy it yourself, or use the Jan Critchfield approach - put a pan on the floor, tell them to eat all the candy tonight and if they throw up, do it in the pan but don't wake Mom.
I was looking for a pumpking cake recipe a few days ago and saw that Incredibly Crabby face on an incredibly crabby crayon! What goes 'round, comes 'round!

Okay, that last comment was funny!!

That group picture of Harrison is great. He looks soooooo thrilled to bet here. ha ha!

With the candy, we just let our kids pick out a couple of things, then Peter and I take the rest and split it between us. :) Halloween is great!! They get the candy, we eat it!!! ha ha!

Halloween truly is the greatest thing to ever happen to children. They get to dress up as anything in the world and it's totally acceptable: ballerina panda. Doesn't exist in real life, but who cares?

What's funny is that she just wanted to be a panda, but the only panda costume I could find in her size inexplicably came with a bow and tutu. At least it's clear that she's a girl.
