Last night Jeff and I went to Forest Park to check out a hot air balloon "glow." We walked and walked and walked (like pioneer children) until we finally got to the top of a large hill and saw this in the distance:
It was so cool! All my dreams came true since I didn't get to see the balloon glow at the Sucky Sandy Hot Air Balloon Festival last year.
Jeff had never seen hot air balloons this close before, so mostly
his dreams came true.
I know I'm not completely in focus in this picture, but I really like it.
During the festivities, there were bagpipers. No reason.
After all the balloons were packed away, we all sat on blankets and watched five minutes of fireworks.
And then we made out, or something. Good times.
[Speaking of "good times," Harrison's dinner and bedtime prayers consist entirely of phrases like "Thank you that we could have a good time today." and "Please bless that I'll have a good time tomorrow." Usually his prayers are answered.]
6 Wisecracks:
what a fun date night.i love kids prayers.
Your fireworks pictures are very cool. And lit up hot air balloons?! AWESOME. Why didn't Sandy City think of that? Boneheads anyway.
hot air balloons, bag pipers, AND fireworks. I am now really jealous.
ditto on the fireworks pictures comment from nicole. you both look like all your dreams just came true. very exciting date. you're so good at getting out in the community for your dates. aron and i need to get more creative.
my children's prayers sound exactly like that. emma's are a little more entertaining, but for the most part it is "please bless that we could have a good day today".
So it WAS you we saw making out! Glad you had a good time. You must know some pretty awesome party planners.
Did they play the song again? The cheesy one that goes "Up, up, and awaaaaay, in our colorful ballooooon." It almost ruined the festival for me last year.
