SOOOOOO Big!

My parents like to talk about their life-long friends and what they're up to now and how they are connected to people they know now.  Usually these people are mentioned by their full married names (In case I knew them before they were married.  Which I didn't.  Ever.) and some sort of trivia about them is mentioned to try and jog my memory.  (Which is never jogged.  Ever.)  When we'd visit these old friends, they would often tell me that they remembered when I was a baby and they can't believe how tall and unbelievably beautiful I've become (or something like that).

As was inevitable, I have become my parents.  My dear friend Rachael (you know, the one I used to teach preschool with?)  came to visit her brother and sister-in-law Becca (you know, the one I met through my book club in Chapel Hill?)  who happen to live right here in St. Louis!  Can you believe it?  We sat and chatted while we bounced our babies on our hips and I imagined running into them years from now and telling their kids that I remember seeing them as babies and I can't believe how tall and beautiful they are.  They will probably roll their eyes and not care.

When we visit home, we try to arrange meetings with our lifelong friends. How nice that they came to you! I love the part about your parents trying to jog your memory. :)

oh man, seeing the three of you sitting on that couch together makes me so jealous....

...how I wish I had a couch like that.

Ha, ha. Just kidding. You know what I really meant. I just can't say what I really feel because darn it i'll get too emotional.

I hope we run into in each other before "years from now". We will be out again next summer with the whole family. We will have to get together with Rylee and Harrison and see if they just pick up where they left off (on their phone conversation) or look at each other like strangers! I think it will be in June but I will let you know. It was so great to see you guys and to meet Miles.
