The Sun'll Come Out Tomorrow

Well, it finally happened.  The skies broke and the sun shown through and we enjoyed two days of gorgeous weather in St. Louis.  Even though I was inside cleaning up vomit, just knowing it was sunny and warm outside lifted my spirits considerably.  I've been in denial ever since.  I refuse to wear my coat despite the cold and snow and I've brought my flip flops out of hiding.  Winter is over, dude.

Jeff took Valentine's Day off of work and we all went to the zoo together.  Jeff's never been to the St. Lou Zoo, so all his dreams came true.  I found the butterfly house very soothing.

This past Monday my friend Brenda let us tag along at the annual Orchid Show at the Missouri Botanical Gardens.  It was gorgeous, again, and Harrison didn't have school so he got to come with us on our field trip.  (Usually he has to hear about it later and declare it unfair.)

Chloe threw up an hour after we arrived home and we've been homebound ever since.  Somehow just knowing there are flowers blooming nearby makes me hopeful that Spring will be here soon and someday I won't have to clean up someone else's poop.

BEAUTIFUL pictures- especially the orchids. I love orchids. I relate to the being homebound due to being sick. I've decided they put Valentine's Day in February to help break up the cold weather blahs and the month that like EVERYONE UNDER THE SUN gets sick. May Spring come soon!

ha ha! I have been wearing my jacket too. (and then I complain that it is so darn cold outside........but I can't pull out that winter coat ONE MORE TIME)
I think I will buy a winter home in Arizona. Yeah........that sounds great!!

Those pictures are awesome! It's a good thing I don't know how to take pictures like that or I would cover my wall with them because they would all be my favorite picture. You are so talented!!!

I was totally in the mood to see beautiful orchids and hear about someone else cleaning up vomit. Thanks for fulfilling me today.

Hello there Melissa! Came across your sister Allyn's blog from a mutual friend and found you - how exciting! I love all the pictures and seeing everyone. Warm weather makes me happy too, even if I don't get out in it. I hope the kids feel better soon. So glad to see you!

I'm sorry that you are still cleaning up vomit. At least you can be grateful you are not cleaning dog vomit. Jimmer threw up six times on our kitchen floor yesterday. On the fifth time out came the culprits: one a little magnet toy and some pieces of Naomi's playdough. Serves him right.

I can't believe how wonderful your photos look...you really do a great job.

i've been complaining about Primary, crying over Primary, losing sleep over Primary and complaining some more. Thankfully the complaing and crying have been left to select few (aren't they lucky) and the rest have seen a sunny faces Sister Kubik. Things are MUCH better now and I still have a testimony, so things are looking up. :) Love looking through all your beautiful pictures. You have such a talent.

Brynn, how nice to hear from you!

Kristi, glad things are MUCH better with Primary. Speaking of, I always ask myself, "What would Kristi do?" when I do singing time. Love you!

St Louis does that every year. Tricky, tricky. A brief respite in the middle of Jan/Feb, then back to winter for a few more weeks. I could never decide if it was nice to have a few days at the park or just cruel.
