When I found out we were moving to Utah I was so excited about reliving some of my childhood memories and sharing them with my family. As it turns out, most of my nostalgic feelings are centered around food. (Such as: fry sauce, Pace's popsicles, See's candies, sasparilla, scones, penny candy from the Apple Store, homemade root beer, etc.)
I was pleased to discover I had a memory to share with my family that didn't involve food--the Christmas lights at Temple Square. Every December, Temple Square is filled with bazillions of beautiful lights and people come from all over just to walk around and look at them. Tuesday night we froze our kiesters off while we walked around the square. Ah! Memories . . .

awwwww I miss being close to a temple!!!
I LOVE seeing the lights on temple square!!! They always do such a great job!! I bet your kids loved that!!
If we came back to UT for the holidays, the lights at Temple Square (and Pace bars) are what I would definitely go see. Good times.
Glad you were able to convince Harrison to go! I think there are even more lights than I remembered. Beautiful!
brrrrrr!!!
Thanks for sharing that! It's so beautiful. Maybe one day I'll see it in person.
Beautiful pictures!!
FRY SAUCE!!!! I miss fry sauce so much and trying to make your own doesn't EVEN work. Thanks for making my mouth water reading this post! ;)
How beautiful. but i have to say food memories are the best! :)
Looks like fun..and cold! What is your address for Christmas cards??? (angie.kelly@gmail.com)
Those are awesome pictures. I love the lights! They make me so happy.
Mark was excited when I told him you had photos of temple square all lit up for Christmas. But told me to chastise you for taking black and white- and I quote: "What a waste!" But don't take it personally he's a picky beast. :)
The two colored ones I posted are definitely the only ones that looked good. The others made us look freaky-deaky. Picky beast.
No wisecrack here! Between the happy faces of your family, the beautiful lights, and "O Holy Night" playing in the background, I'm bawlin' like a baby. Yay for the Christmas memories you're creating! :D
