I'm Thankful for My In-Laws

When my brother Rob got married my sister Nicole wisely advised them that "There are at least two ways to do everything . . . and that's okay."  I've learned from my in-laws that this statement is true and good.

This is Patti.

She managed to pull off Pie Day (14 pies!) and a full Thanksgiving dinner in someone else's kitchen.  She also woke up bright and early with all the grandkids and served them breakfast while their lazy parents snoozed away. Then she babysat all the grandkids while we went and saw some lame movies.  Hmm.  You were on vacation, too, right Patti?

Who's got two thumbs and knows how to relax?

This guy!  It's nice to see someone who works as hard as Pops does also know how to take it easy.

This is Amy.

I pretty much want to be wherever she is.  She's leaving for Sweden in Jaunuary to serve an 18 month mission for the LDS Church.  Lucky Sweden.

I didn't get any awesome pictures of my other awesome sisters-in-law, so apologies to Aubrie and Melanie.

(Secretly that picture of Aubrie is one of my favorites.  She's so clearly wishing she were eating Jeff's Apple Pie Sundae in a Wine Glass.)  The three of us are slowly but surely turning this family into Girl's Club.  Solidarity, sisters!

I love this family!  I hope someday to share their collective thirst for knowledge.  (If only so I won't be the only one in the room who doesn't laugh when a chemistry-related joke is told.  Bunch of smarty-pantsez.)

*I forgot to mention in my original version of this post that Jeff's brother, Brian, wasn't there because he's serving a 2 year mission for the LDS church in Provo, UT.  We missed you, Brian, and enjoyed reading your email as a family.  Thank you for setting a great example for my kids.  High-five!

This totally made me cry, too. Your pictures and words are working me over lately. Also, how did you get your photos to be so huge? Do I not "get" Blogger?

Congratulations to Amy!

I love your in-laws too and am very jealous, not that you love them so much, but that you were able to get together for a whole week. I'm missing everyone right now!

how did you do the collage thing. i too, do not 'get" blogger. maybe you did it with photoshop, though.
your in-laws are waaay fun. i have fun in-laws as well, but they come with many quirks.
awesome pictures, again. you have a knack for capturing people in mid-air.

I did the collage in Picasa. I don't have Photoshop. That's the dream. I have Elements, but it's blowing my mind. Does anyone know how to use it?
