Growing and Glowing

Does anyone else laugh when they see pregnancy pictures like this? Seriously. Who stands in a field of flowers and ponders their baby bump? What I'm really pondering is: Why am I still pregnant? Hasn't it been nine months? Who needs NINE months? Everyone I know is pretty much ready by month eight.

That's when you start doing weirdly desperate things to get the baby out. Like absurdly long walks and spicy foods.

Eventually you just give up and conclude that the kid is never actually coming and you will forever remain in a constant state of pregnancy.
In other news, I've officially lost it. Last night I burst into my bathroom at 2am and demanded that my lotion and hairspray please keep it down in there.

I hope my children remember a time when Mommy wasn't crazy.
So I'm pretty much over being pregnant. The miracle of life is beautiful. I get it. Next!

I've interspersed this post with some images from my trip to the annual Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. Nicole and I took our girls and met Makenzie and Gabriel there. It was lovely.

A wise woman once told me you can never have a bad day wearing red shoes.
Hmmm. Red shoes. Those might actually fit me in two months. Now I know what I'm doing tomorrow.

Spring Break Idaho Style

Harrison was on Spring Break this past week, so we went up to Idaho to make some memories. Here are the highlights:
Before we left, we dyed eggs with Jeff.

Once we got to Pocatello, my mom took us to a pet store with a petting zoo (aka THE SCARIEST PLACE, EVER). I can understand being afraid of that emu, but they were also scared of the little puppies sleeping behind glass windows. City kids.

Our obligatory lunch at the GC with Grandma Shirley and Grandpa Curtis went well. Harrison got a chocolate mustache and Grandma said he looked just like Brad Pitt and I needed to take a picture.
Maybe Grandma Shirley doesn't know who Brad Pitt is.

My mom made egg shaped rice krispie treats with the kids. They do taste better that way.

We took a stinky drive to Twin Falls to see my friend Liz and her family. The kids practiced being older siblings by alternately stealing Gram's toys and burying him with them.

Since it was wet and cold outside, we had an Easter egg hunt there in the house.

Later Liz and Kyle took us to Shoshone Falls (you know, "The Niagara of the West"?).

After that, we went to a scary bridge over a huge canyon and Harrison climbed a mountain.

It was quite the adventure. Once we got home, my ankles informed me that I would no longer be having any adventures for the duration of my pregnancy. I think I'll put myself on bed rest tomorrow.

Thanks for showing us a good time, Idaho-zians!
