"Did I hear a niner in there?"

After saying goodbye to our Lee family, we had most of the day on Saturday, July 7th to ourselves until we could move into our next beach house.  (Yes, life's rough.)  Since Harrison was turning nine on the 8th, we decided to start the celebration.  We drove to Wilmington and took the kids to see "Madagascar 3".  We all laughed hard and spent the rest of the week singing the Afro Circus song.  Then we introduced the kids to North Carolina's finest cuisine.

It's their new favorite restaurant.  There may have been actual tears when we told them there's no Bojangles in Missouri.  (Okay, the tears were mine.)

When I asked Harrison what he wanted to do for his birthday, he said, "EAT and not go to church."  We compromised on the church part (one hour only) and told him that we would come up with a Man vs. Food challenge for him.

Man vs. Food is one of his favorite shows, so we filmed the whole thing and I turned it into Kid vs. Food, episode one.  If you've ever seen Man vs. Food and you have eleven minutes and twenty-two seconds to spare, you might find this amusing.

I won't tell you how it ended, but I will say that it was a lot of fun for him.  Afterwards, he opened his presents and blew out the candles on his WWE wrestler cake.

As you might have guessed, he didn't have much of an appetite for cake.  Even an awesome cake featuring John Cena and John Morrison.

Grandma and Grandpa gave him a new monster truck and the beach turned out to be the ultimate Monster Jam course.  Could being nine BE any more fun?

The picture is great but it doesn't even quite capture how awesome that cake looked. Bradley's lips do. It was amazing! Off to watch the video!

I had to go teach a lesson so I just watched the video. Loved the credits! And I'm surprised he didn't get further on the pizza after I saw his preparation. He was so ready!

That video was way better than this silly parade of nations on TV. The entertainment value was especially impressive considering he gave up while eating his first slice. Love the cake.

I think Harrison would make a great TV host. :) You have been making some awesome videos on this blog. I love this and the 4th of July one.

Patti, his preparation was pretty awesome, huh?

Tammy and Alvin, my favorite part was when he said, "I just realized there's no way I can do this." after eating two bites. He MAY have been a little over-confident before the challenge.

Oh, man! I was not prepared for how funny that was. He only ate three pieces of pizza! Hahahahahahaha!!! The question and answer session afterward was my favorite.

Does that mean the Cake song, which was also part of your Road Trip Mixed CD, is Harrison's choice? Only a true fan would notice that.

Weston wants to do an episode now. That was awesome!
