Miles had his first soccer game of the season on Saturday. Soccer is his favorite and his best.
The coach asked the team which goal was theirs. Once that was settled, the game began.
One of the things I love about this boy is that he plays hard the whole time. He doesn't stand around waiting for the ball, but he doesn't bully his way to the front and steal it from his teammates, either. (Not naming names here.)
They don't have goalies, but he did a great job defending his goal from the other team.
Maybe he could work on listening to his coach during halftime.
He got SO EXCITED every time his team scored. Which was a lot. It was a little embarrassing by the end.
"We have ten points and they only have three!!!"
Always with the tongue sticking out.
He loved having his own cheering section. Once we figured out the names of all the kids on the team, it was fun to cheer for them and hear other parents cheer for Miles.
He didn't score any goals, but another thing I love about him is that he understands that he's part of a team and that when someone scores, it's a victory for all of them. Jeff says we have our soccer video game to thank for that. Let's not be ridiculous, buddy.
I mean, come on! How can you not want to wake up early every Saturday morning and cheer this kid on? Go, Green Raptors!

I was laughing with delight by the end. How can you not want to cheer this kid on?!
