Dancing Queen

Chloe recently had her Spring dance recital and it was the best recital we've seen, yet.  Actually, it was two recitals because she is in three dance classes and they performed in different shows.  Her brothers weren't thrilled about spending all day watching dance recitals, but they kind of owe her after all the Saturdays she's spent watching them play sports.  Unfortunately, photography and videotaping were strictly prohibited, so I can't post any pictures or video of the actual performance (Try not to cry.).  You'll have to settle for these photos I took of her in her costumes.

Her ballet class danced to the Piano Guys' Let It Go/Winter mashup.  She danced beautifully.  I may have cried.

Chloe's favorite class this year was Musical Theatre Dance.  She and the other three girls in her class danced to "What Is This Feeling?" from Wicked.  Two girls wore pink and two wore green and they all did a great job.

This is how I did her makeup for picture day and we quickly learned that this was not clownish enough.  Oy vey.  Can we all just pause a moment to admire my bun-making skills?  This year she was required to wear a bun every week to class.  There were a lot of tears involved (from both of us).

Her tap class danced to "That Man" by Caro Emerald.  If this song is not on your iPod, it should be.  This was my favorite dance of all the dances danced.

It's kind of a sassy song and she was a little too good at being sassy.

A few days after the recital, she auditioned to be a part of the performance company.  She was so poised and focused and I was so proud of her.  She made the company and we look forward to spending the next year watching her dance all over this town.

What just happened?! Why does Blogger make it so hard to leave a note? I'm so proud of Chloe and your bun-making skillz! She looks beautiful in every picture. My favorite costume/hair/make-up is the pink from the Wicked dance. :)
